These are the most popular cooking classes on the island featured on BBC World TV’s Holiday program, raved about in Trip Advisor reviews, and recommended in the Lonely Planet, the Rough Guide, and Frommer’s Guide. They have been sharing the secrets of Thai cooking with visitors since 1999. Here everyone can improve his culinary talent, cooking skills, and presentation of Thai dishes.
Thai cooking classes are taught by professional chefs who know all the delicacies and secrets of national cookery art. Classes are organized according to health standards, in the air-conditioned kitchen of 90 square meters with all modern equipment. Each student is provided an apron, his own burner on the stove, cookware, and a booklet for notes. For those ingredients which may not be available where you live, suitable substitutes are suggested.
At the beginning of class, a chef will introduce students to the basics of Thai cuisine and talk about the peculiarities of its preparation. Then, during the practical part of the classes, the students will personally cook Thai dishes under the direction of a chef. Now comes the time to taste dishes and appreciate the result in the cozy dining room and even invite your friends for degustation! Organizers promise that these students’ masterpieces will be the best of what you have ever tasted in Thailand due to the experience of tutors and freshness of products purchased at the local market every day.
Attention! All dishes can be adapted for vegetarians! Please inform us in advance. Only children above 8 years old, which are capable to quietly observe the parents’ training, are allowed to classes. SITCA arrange private lessons for corporate clients, families, friends, and weddings. The minimum number of participants – 10 people.
Three-hour courses take place twice a day in the morning and afternoon. SITCA’s menus change for every day of the week Monday through Saturday. Students who participate in 3 or more classes receive a certificate of achievement. Here you can buy a special DVD with detailed instructions for Thai cooking.

I took the course about a year ago, but I just got an email from them so I finally remembered to write a review. (BTW, I have gotten ONE email from them in a year, so they do not relentlessly spam you.)
The course was very good. We had one more student than work station, so I ended up at the teachers' station, but it was fine. The teacher (who of COURSE had a Thai accent...She IS Thai and this is Thailand after all!) was perfectly understandable and very attentive to all students. She even made kosher variations of the dishes we cooked for three of the students. She was a little too cautious about spiciness, but I like food spicy, and I'm Korean. I thought it was at the pricier end of my budget, but average for Koh Samui and that neighborhood's restaurants. As a solo traveller, I didn't have much dinner company, so having dinner with other students was a welcome added bonus, plus it gave me something to do besides the beach and bars. I was also glad that they offered beer (for about the average bar price) while we cooked and to accompany our dinner.
I booked this for my husband and I - he wasn't interested but attended anyway. By the end of the class we were having so much fun that my husband suggested we book another class so we did!
The menu is set - the same each week. We did the Monday and Wednesday afternoon classes with teacher Wit, who was exceptional! Funny, patient and very knowledgeable.
Anyone can attend, even children of 'cooking age'. The food is amazing, the classes are extremely organised, you get your own recipe book to take home and can take notes throughout the class. The staff also take photos with your camera and each individual student makes enough food to feed about three average adults so you can invite friends to help you eat afterwards (for free!).
Highly recommended by me! Can't wait to go home and show off my skills as it is all now so much easier!
